As I relax in my recliner…

As I relax in my recliner in my home where I feel the most comfortable, I reflect on my travels over the last week. I’m reminded of the only verse of The song America the Beautiful I could remember in sing along to as a kid. I feel like I was a witness to what inspired Katherine Bates to write her poem. The spacious sky’s, purple mountain majesty, and the amber waves of grain. I saw it all. Short of looking out the window of a plane at 30 thousand feet, driving across our country puts into perspective how little space I occupy as a single person. Yet I see how my interaction with fellow human beings can cause a ripple across the entire surface from sea to shining sea. Not near as poetic as the song but a constant reminder of who belongs the glory, God. Without my relationship with Jesus,, I could have missed it all.
